Let’s Make 2022 a Great Year for Your Business

We hope you had some time off over the Christmas/New Year period to take a break & reflect on how their business performed in 2021 & look at the year ahead.

Now that you are (probably) back to work what will be different in 2022? Lets hope that COVID or the overall economy doesn’t affect your business too much but what have you put in place to make your business even better in 2022?

Have you done some planning? What are your priorities?

Do Your Customers Like Dealing with You?

A lot of the New Year planning is around how to make things better & easier for their customers. Businesses want customers to make the transaction a lot faster & easier. Alternatively, it may be a function of changing things around a bit to give customers a new look.

Often the experience change is a result of changes in marketing.  An updated website, more newsletters or blogs or giving customers more information to assist them in understanding what is happening in your industry.

Are Your Systems up to Date?

We have been talking to our clients about using Cloud-based software for their finances for the past few years. Why? It makes things easier for you & saves up time in the process. It also helps the both of us understand how your business is going now rather than looking backwards. This means we can plan ahead faster & with more up-to-date information.

Your customers might want the same for you. Can they buy from you at the click of a button? Or do they want or need to call you for that? On the flipside, can your suppliers do that for you? Will the changes make your whole internal process work more efficiently?

Your Inhouse Talent is Critical

At the end of last year we wrote a blog about the demand for talent & the effect its having on both finding staff & the cost of wages.

We encourage you to sit down with your staff over a cup of coffee and understand their thoughts on the coming year. Are they happy with the current situation? Are they thinking of moving? Do they want to take on other responsibilities?

Certainly, in serviced based organisations there has been the ability to retain staff after they have moved away. With the help of technology people can continue to do the same job but in another location.

 Your Priorities for the Year

The key is to planning is putting the time aside to do it before you get caught up in running the business. Put of list together of what needs to be done & prioritise. Setting your sights further into the future and reaching goals is what creates great businesses & not just “business as usual” or a “little better than last year”.

Seeking and identifying the opportunities for growth is important as you adapt to what business life throws at you.

So, do yourself a favour this month and take some time out of your day or week to allow yourself to focus on important business strategies that will take your business to the next level.
